Precision excavation matched to your design, a reinforced steel rebar cage engineered for your soil, and pneumatically applied gunite that forms a monolithic concrete shell with no seams and no weak points.
PebbleTec, PebbleSheen, PebbleBrilliance, and QuartzScapes rated for Tucson water chemistry and UV. Colors range from deep ocean blues and midnight blacks to natural stone tones, each hand-applied and cured under controlled conditions.
Glass mosaic, porcelain, or natural stone tile at the waterline, paired with bullnose or cantilevered coping that integrates with your deck material. Every joint sealed and sloped to prevent water intrusion behind the shell.
Travertine, concrete pavers, natural flagstone, and cool-deck coatings set on compacted, engineered base systems with proper drainage slope away from the pool edge, built to handle foot traffic, furniture, and monsoon runoff.
Main drains, skimmers, return lines, and dedicated circuits roughed in before gunite is applied and permanently embedded. Equipment pads house variable-speed pumps, filters, sanitation systems, and heaters sized for optimal flow and efficiency.
Underwater LED color lighting and Pentair, Jandy, or Hayward automation integrating pumps, heaters, sanitizers, lighting, and features into a single panel or app, with variable-speed scheduling and automated chemical dosing.
We walk your property, assess soil and subsurface conditions, document sun exposure and drainage, measure setbacks, review HOA guidelines if applicable, and discuss your vision, priorities, and budget. This complimentary consultation establishes an accurate plan and honest scope.
Your approved design is translated into engineered construction drawings, including structural specs, plumbing and electrical schematics, equipment layouts, and drainage plans. We submit all required permits to the City of Tucson or Pima County and manage the review process through approval.
Excavation begins on schedule and is completed to the precise dimensions and depth of your design. Caliche is addressed with specialized equipment as needed. A reinforced steel rebar cage is tied to engineering specs and inspected before any concrete is applied.
Plumbing lines, electrical conduit, and embedded fittings are installed within the steel framework. Gunite or shotcrete is applied to form the structural shell. Municipal inspections occur at each phase before work proceeds.
Interior finishes, tile, coping, and decking are installed. Equipment is connected, tested, and programmed. The pool is filled, water chemistry is balanced, and systems are brought online. We walk every installation with you and confirm every detail matches the approved design.
Tucson’s environment tests every material and method used during installation. From the subsurface obstacles that complicate excavation to the thermal extremes that stress finishes and equipment year-round, the installation process must account for conditions that simply do not exist in other markets. Every Sorce installation begins with a thorough site evaluation of soil, grade, drainage, sun exposure, and utility locations. We build for the specific conditions on your lot, not from a generalized playbook.
Tucson’s caliche layer, a calcium carbonate hardpan found anywhere from 6 inches to several feet below grade, is one of the most significant obstacles in installation. Standard equipment often cannot penetrate it without specialized rock saws or hydraulic breakers. We assess subsurface conditions before breaking ground, adjust excavation plans, and engineer the shell and footer to anchor securely in Tucson’s geology.
With summer air temperatures above 110 degrees and ground-level surfaces exceeding 150 degrees, every component must withstand extreme thermal cycling. We specify UV-stabilized PVC plumbing, heat-rated conduit, thermally engineered deck expansion joints, and interior finishes formulated to resist sun-driven degradation. Equipment pads are positioned and shaded to extend service life.
Tucson receives 6 or more inches of rain during monsoon season, delivered in sudden downpours between July and September. Installations that ignore drainage end up with flooded equipment areas and eroded deck bases. Every installation includes graded drainage channels, French drains where needed, sloped decking, and backfill compaction that prevents settling and water intrusion.
While Tucson rarely sees prolonged freezing, overnight lows from November through March can dip below 32 degrees. We install freeze-protection sensors on all equipment, route plumbing below the frost line where practical, and configure automation with freeze-guard programming that activates circulation before temperatures reach critical thresholds.

Structural, plumbing, electrical, hardscape, and mechanical work are all coordinated by one accountable team, eliminating the delays and miscommunication of managing multiple contracts on your own.
Founded by Wesley Sorce, a U.S. Air Force veteran, and Steven Faulkner, a lifelong Tucsonan. Detailed planning, clear communication, and accountability at every phase are part of our standard operating procedure.
A local firm building for the community we live in, with deep knowledge of Tucson soils, climate patterns, neighborhood aesthetics, and HOA requirements, not a franchise adapting methods used elsewhere.

In a region where outdoor living is a primary selling point, a well-built pool with quality finishes, integrated decking, and modern equipment consistently increases home value by 5 to 8 percent and accelerates time on market.
Tucson’s climate supports pool use 9 to 10 months of the year without supplemental heating, and year-round with a heat pump or gas heater, transforming underused backyard space into a daily-use amenity.
Variable-speed pumps cut energy use by up to 80 percent, saltwater chlorination reduces chemical purchases, LED lighting uses a fraction of the power, and smart automation optimizes run times, heating, and dosing automatically.
When your pool is installed by the same team that builds your hardscape, shade structures, fire features, outdoor kitchen, and landscape, drainage integrates, circuits are shared efficiently, materials match, and design lines connect.
Properly sized plumbing reduces equipment strain, engineered drainage prevents deck settling and backfill erosion, and quality interior finishes resist staining and degradation for 10 to 15 years before resurfacing is needed.

Learn MoreInstallation typically ranges from $55,000 to $80,000 for a standard build, $80,000 to $120,000 for mid-range custom projects, and $120,000 to $200,000 or more for premium resort-style installations. Final cost depends on size, shape complexity, interior finish, features, decking, and site conditions including caliche depth.
From excavation to swim-ready water, most custom installations take 8 to 12 weeks, assuming smooth permitting, standard site conditions, no major design changes, and normal supply availability. Pima County pool permits typically process through the Fast Lane with a 15-day review target.
Gunite is a pneumatically applied concrete that forms a monolithic, seamless shell over a reinforced steel rebar cage. It is the preferred method for custom pools because it allows any shape, depth, or feature configuration and produces a structure rated to last 50 years or more. Shotcrete is a similar process applied wet rather than dry.
We install PebbleTec, PebbleSheen, PebbleBrilliance, and QuartzScapes interior finishes, each rated for Tucson UV intensity and water chemistry. Colors range from deep blues and blacks to natural stone tones that complement the surrounding desert landscape.
Yes. Installation in the City of Tucson and Pima County requires a building permit, structural plans, and multiple inspections during construction. Sorce handles the entire permit process from plan submission through final sign-off.
Caliche is a calcium carbonate hardpan common throughout the Tucson basin, sitting anywhere from 6 inches to several feet below grade and requiring specialized excavation such as rock saws or hydraulic breakers. Depth and density directly affect cost and timeline, which is why we assess subsurface conditions before a final estimate.
Yes. We are a full-scope outdoor living contractor, not just a pool company. We install pools, hardscape, shade structures, outdoor kitchens, fire features, lighting, and full landscape design and planting in a single coordinated project. Building everything together saves time, reduces cost, and produces a unified result.
Installation can begin in any season. Fall and winter starts from September through February are popular because they avoid peak summer heat during construction and have the pool swim-ready by spring. Experienced crews build year-round in Tucson’s mild winter climate.
